We arrived to the Free Speech Lawn it had numerous painted large wood planks and posters for the Cowboys Homecoming week and weekend. It promoted Greek Fraternities and OSU clubs. The fountain in front of the library had orange water flowing through it. It’s fanaticism for the orange cowboy mascot color. These fountains on universities campuses should be used for baptism of students. Read Acts 2:38, the Apostles and genuine converts were mindful of nearby water and it’s useful for the KINGdom of GOD.

Slew of activity and an assortment of strange characters were on the surrounding sidewalk. A stocky male student wore a cape and carried a plastic/toy machine gun and short haired lesbian distributed invitations to “Zombies VS Humans.” They would interrupt and talk to the passerby about the upcoming event. Another short cropped hair female with a tank top challenged Brother Micah to play shoot a zombie. Micah declined and let them know his love for their souls was far more important than their game. Brother Micah referred them to the Bible passage  ” And you hath he quickened, who were DEAD in TRESPASSES and SINS;” Ephesians 2:1.

I was inspired to preach on the urgency of students and prodigals to COME HOME to Christ! I preached a sarcastic sermon on the “Top 10 Reasons to Drink.” The homecoming event central theme is known for alcohol abuse and sports idolatry. University students and their lack of knowledge of the REAL JESUS of the HOLY BIBLE like to accuse Christ of being the bartender at the marriage of Galilee and Last Supper.

As Brother Micah preached a Jewish long haired male student dialoged for 30 minutes. He accepted the Torah, and did not want us to preach against homosexuality. We emphasized Moses preached and taught against homosexuality in Leviticus.  A Jewess female student dressed in a long skirt, modest tee shirt and long hair inquired, “what are the scriptures used for the Roman’s road?”She was very unfamiliar with the New Testament.

Micah had a male student who attended a Christian High School ask, “if he knew anything about the Holy Spirit?” The student then said emphatically” it was 500 years after the New Testament had been given and mentioned.” Micah did an excellent job quoting the passage from Isaiah 63:10.  It was excellent for the other Jewish and Jewess students to hear a passage from Isaiah one of their Prophets.

We saw familiar faces in the crowd. It is truly a blessing to have regulars attend the meeting as the Word of God continues to speak to them. A lust filled tank wearing male self proclaimed Christian who has attended ALL the open air meetings thus far. His service to God is the mission trips in Washington and other states he has taken with his youth group. This male hypocrite likes to expose his exercised physique and lifts up his shirt each time to show his abdomens.  He is an example of a sure enough hypocrite as he cussed, hid behind bushes spewed sexual profanity. He is a big sin defender that insisted “we can’t STOP sinning.”

At the end of the meeting students took MANY specific sin tracts. The Gospel tracts are helpful for follow up. Brother Micah and I were grateful to God for another day to proclaim the Gospel and the 100 to 120 who attended the open air meeting.

God stated Job was perfect three times (Job 1:1, Job 1:8, Job 2:3) and then stated in all Job was tested he sinned not (Job 1:22) but when Job came into God’s Holy manifest presence he abhorred himself and repented in sackcloth and ashes (Job 42:5-6).

Daniel was a man of such an excellent spirit that his enemies could find no fault in him except in the manner of the law of His God (Daniel 6:4-5) yet when Daniel came into the Holy manifest presence of God his comeliness was turned into corruption (Daniel 10:8).

John the Revelator wrote the epistles of 1 John, 2 John, 3 John with all its verses on whosoever is born of God sins not and he that commits sin is of the devil, etc. yet when this holy man saw the resurrected Jesus Christ he fell at his feet as if he were dead (Revelation 1:17).

Preach repentance and holiness all you want but don’t get so casual and flippant sounding about how holy you are living that you forget the experiences these men had when they came into the presence of the THRICE HOLY LIVING RESURRECTED GOD WHO IS A CONSUMING FIRE THAT YOU WILL STAND BEFORE AND GIVE AN ACCOUNT WITH NO SECOND CHANCES.

You cannot teach the main purpose of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost is to overcome sin if God gives the Holy Ghost to them that obey Him (Acts 5:32) and be consistent with scripture.

Sin is disobeying God (John 14:15, 1 John 3:4) and Jesus is the Savior of those who obey Him (Hebrews 5:9).

Someone who is sinning is disobeying God and is therefore not saved and not a candidate for the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

The grace that saves (Ephesians 2:8-9) teaches the saved person to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world (Titus 2:11-12, Galatians 1:4) and have dominion over sin (Romans 6:14).

This is an obedient life that qualifies the saved person obeying God to ask and receive the Baptism in the Holy Ghost (Acts 5:32, Luke 11:13).

Even Jesus Christ as our ultimate example always perfectly obeyed the Father before He was Baptized in the Holy Ghost and when the Father did so He commended the Son as pleasing the Father (Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 12:18, John 8:29).

I do not deny the Baptism in the Holy Ghost brings a fuller revelation of Jesus Christ and the scriptures and helps us to walk more intimately with the Savior and thereby makes it easier to live victoriously and overcome sin.

We can also have a greater and more effective prayer life which also enables us to live on a much higher plane of victory (Jude 20, Romans 8:26-27).

However faith is Jesus as Savior from sin is what gives victory over sin (Matthew 1:21, Acts 3:26, John 1:29, 1 John 3:5, Galatians 1:4, Titus 2:14, 1 John 5:4, Romans 3:31) and the grace to obey the commandments of Jesus Christ.

By grace and faith in Jesus Christ we can have victory over sin in our own life.

The Baptism in the Holy Ghost after salvation to those who obey, ask and please God is primarily for the purpose of having an impact on those we witness and preach to (Acts 1:8, Luke 24:49).

To preach repentance and remission of sins (Luke 24:47), to break the bondage of the devil from them (Luke 4:18, 2 Corinthians 4:4) and penetrate their hearts with the truth of God (Acts 26:18, Hebrews 4:12).
